Paul Heyman opened the latest episode of SmackDown at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, January 11. Fans erupted in chants of “OTC” as Heyman announced that Roman Reigns was not present in the arena, but he would provide updates on Reigns’ next move.
Heyman shared that after reclaiming the Ula Fala on WWE RAW on Netflix, Reigns now has his sights set on regaining the WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes. He also confirmed that Reigns will be entering the 2025 Royal Rumble with the goal of headlining WrestleMania once again.
In the night’s main event, the match featured Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu facing off against Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso. The action kicked off with Rhodes lifting Tonga and slamming him to the mat. Both Rhodes and Uso delivered powerful blows to Tonga.

The tide turned when Tonga tagged in Fatu, who quickly sent Jimmy out of the ring before executing a Samoan drop on Rhodes. Kevin Owens’ music blared through the arena, and he attacked Rhodes outside the ring, causing chaos. Fatu capitalized on the distraction by slamming Jimmy onto the announce table, followed by a DDT and his signature moonsault from the top rope, securing the victory for his team.
Additionally, both the men’s and women’s United States champions successfully defended their titles during the episode. Chelsea Green defeated Michin, while LA Knight won his match by disqualification. Meanwhile, Shinsuke Nakamura retained his title after a hard-fought contest.
