Inauguration Day 2025 is set to feature a star-studded lineup of attendees, as well as some notable absences that are stirring public interest.
Among the distinguished figures confirmed for the swearing-in ceremony are tech moguls Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg. The three billionaires will be seated together on the stage alongside President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other prominent elected officials.
In addition to these figures, former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush will also be present to witness the event. Their wives, Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will accompany them at the Capitol. However, one high-profile absence will be former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The Office of Barack and Michelle Obama confirmed that while Barack Obama would attend the inauguration, Michelle would not be in attendance. The reason for her absence has not been disclosed. This comes on the heels of Michelle Obama’s decision not to attend the state funeral for President Jimmy Carter, where she cited a scheduling conflict while vacationing in Hawaii.
