SSI Payment Increase for 2025

In addition to the adjusted payment dates, SSI recipients will see a 2.5% increase in their benefits for 2025, thanks to the annual Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA). This adjustment is designed to help offset the rising cost of living and ensure that purchasing power isn’t eroded.

  • Maximum monthly benefit: $967 for an individual and $1,450 for a couple, up from $943 and $1,415, respectively, in 2024.
  • While this increase is less than the significant COLA boosts in recent years (3.2% in 2024 and 8.7% in 2023), it still provides some relief to beneficiaries.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) encourages recipients to wait three business days before contacting them if a payment is delayed, as weekends and holidays are not considered working days.

Overall, these adjustments are meant to ensure that SSI recipients receive their payments on time and that their benefits are adjusted for inflation, helping them navigate the costs of living in the coming year.
