Leslie Charleson, the beloved actress who portrayed Monica Quartermaine on General Hospital, tragically passed away at the age of 79. Her cause of death has not been disclosed, but her health had been declining in recent years, marked by several falls that impacted her mobility. In fact, Leslie had been using a walker for support after these incidents, and just a week before her passing, she was rushed to the hospital following another fall.
The actress’s health struggles began in 2017 when she fell while walking her dog, leading to a serious leg injury that kept her away from General Hospital for two months. During her absence, she was temporarily replaced by Patty McCormack. In October 2023, it was revealed that Leslie would likely not return to the soap opera, with her final appearance airing in December of the same year.
